Let's Play! LOTA ladies! This program was started in 2009 and has been a big success! The primary objectives of this program are: · Bring together and provide playing partners and opportunities for players at the 1.0 to 3.0 skill level. · Provide opportunities to learn, practice, and improve their tennis skills in a fun relaxed environment. · Provide competitive opportunities The "1.0 to 3.0 skill level" includes the player new to tennis (beginner), the player who knows the basics and is looking for opportunities to practice and play (intermediate beginner), and the player who plays frequently and is fairly consistent but looking to improve their execution (advanced beginner). It also includes the more advanced player who may have been away from the sport for awhile (injury, etc.) and is looking to get back on the courts. Most importantly, we are looking for players who just want to get out on the courts and have fun! The Reynolds Tennis Center and Del Webb have graciously offered to let us use some of their courts. Weekly Program Play takes place on Tuesday morning at the Lake Club (Reynolds Plantation) and Thursday morning at Del Webb. Each week we have a great turnout and a lot of fun. We continue to have new faces join us each week, so if you haven't had a chance to join yet, we hope you will come on out and give it a try! We also publish a Program Roster so that participants can find playing partners at other times during the week. The program begins the first Tuesday in March and runs through October. We try to set the time based on seasonal temperatures: March - Apr 10:00 AM May - June 9:00 AM July - Sept 8:00 AM Oct. 9:00 AM Each week we will send out an email asking if anyone is available to play. If you would like to play, please RSVP by replying to the email by the date listed. A reminder will be sent the night before to everyone who is playing the next day. We also try to offer an occasional clinic, as well as some fun round robins and other events. We even take part in tournament play (yes, tournaments are not just for the "pros" and can be fun!). We also participate in the other LOTA leagues as well: Ladies, Mens, and Mixed. These are weekend leagues open to all levels and a lot of fun! If you are interested in this program or have any questions, feel free to contact Lee or Eileen at letsplaylota@gmail.com. Hope to see you on the courts! |
