The Saturday Men’s LOTA League will start on March 17 and run until May 12 skipping April 7 and May 5. We are doing the same thing we did last season. I think the majority of guys liked the format. All the men will be divided into 3 divisions:
    A Level:   All players with USTA ratings 4.0 and higher
    B Level:   All players with USTA rating of 3.5
    C Level:   All players with USTA rating of 3.0 or lower

Each week, if a player is available, he will sign up by emailing the coordinator. The coordinator will set up matches according to the STANDINGS in each level. Players will be moved up or down accordingly to get as many matches as possible. For example, if there are 7 A players, the top B player in the standings will move up to play A. If there are 9 A players, the lowest A player in the standings would move down to play B. Matches will start at 12:00 so we get to use some of the clay courts at the Reynold's Lake Club. We also will have another great pizza and beer day.
You will play 3 sets changing partners after each set. Spin racquets to choose partners. Each player winning a set gets 7 points and the team losing the set gets the number of games you won.

We will keep results and rank players in each level according to points. The next week's matches will be based on player availability and points standings. If you want to play higher players, WIN MORE SETS. The top 2 players in each level win prizes. You must play at least half the available weeks to qualify for awards. If players are very high or very low in the standings, they will be moved up or down accordingly for next season.

Make sure your email and phone numbers are accurate and make sure you hit the “Submit” button on the information page. I will automatically receive your signup. You will receive a confirmation email. It will only take 2 minutes to sign up so do it now. To be eligible to play in this or any other LOTA league, your dues for the current year MUST BE PAID. A one year membership only costs $15 and the benefits are well worth it. Besides the great tennis and the great people you will meet, the social activities and other enjoyable tennis events are fantastic. Your membership also allows you to play in the very popular Mixed Doubles League on Sunday afternoon. The LOTA Men include players of all abilities from beginner to advanced so don't be reluctant to come out and play. There's something for everyone. This is a FUN organization and we promote good tennis and great times.
